Hotels - Part 1

We stayed at two different hotels during our travels to Perm.

On visit one, we stayed at the Hilton Perm Garden Inn.

This hotel is part of the Hilton chain and had been recommended as "English Friendly" by a number of folks.  The hotel was quite comfortable, with a friendly staff that mostly speak English.  The breakfast in the morning is very nice.   The hotel itself is located someway from the center of town.   There is a modern shopping mall two parking lots away, which has a bowling lane and a very nice grocery store.

The restaurant served a nice variety of Russian food and international cusine, plus there was also a number of dining options near by.  The biggest down side for us with the Hilton was that it was quite away out of the city center requiring us to hire a taxi or hop on the trolley/tram to do any exploring.

Taxi hire is a bit of a challenge if you don't speak Russian.  We ventured on to the public tram system and found it easy to use and extrememly inexpensive.  The hotel provided us with general use instructions and a route map in English.
